Program Note: A Quiet Snowy Evening is a nocturne inspired by one of my favorite scenes from my hometown of Rising Sun, Maryland. In the midst of winter, thick snowfall at night is absolutely blissful. It is incredibly quiet, almost nothing can be heard but the sound of snowflakes hitting the ground. Due to my home’s proximity to a church, this is also accompanied by the occasional church bells which make the environment even more serene. The church inspired the pipe organ-esque passages at the beginning of the piece. This work is a musical representation of how it feels to be outside during this nocturnal snowfall.
Publisher Description: With its ambient harmonies and subdued tone, leave audiences captivated by this exquisitely poetic nocturne filled with deep introspection.
